TIG and MIG Robotic Welding Capabilities

Which type of robotic welding best suits your application? The most common types of robotic welding are Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG).

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Robotic Welding

During the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process, a wire is continuously fed through the welding gun. The wire acts as filler material to join the metal objects being welded together. MIG welding is generally preferred for large parts requiring thick weldments.

Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Robotic Welding

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) utilizes a non-consumable welding wire or tungsten electrode. During this process, current runs through the two materials, welding them via heat. TIG welding provides the precision required to join smaller parts.
